The newspaper Dagens Industri has since 2000 awared the fastest growing companies in the country, Sweden's with the Gasell award. MMT was awarded the first price for 2009, which is based on the growth and sound financials for the years 2005-2008.
The concept of Gasell was created by the American researcher David Birch 20 years ago.
The criteria for becoming a Gasell company are tough. Less than 1 percent of the Swedish companies can handle the requirements for designation to the Gazelle, according to research from the Stockholm School of Economics.
Criteria for becoming a Gasell:
• have published at least four annual reports. • have a turnover exceeding 10 million • have at least ten employees. • have the last three years continuously increased sales. • During the same period at least doubled its turnover. • has an overall operating loss for the four financial years is positive. • has essentially grown organically, not through acquisitions or mergers. • have sound finances.
The price was awarded to MMT Group (previously named Shipriders).
